1. Warm-up

2. Vocabulary

(Repeat after tutor + make short sentences)

  • department – a part of a company.
    Example: I work in the HR department.

  • responsible for – to have duty for something.
    Example: I am responsible for hiring staff.

  • colleague – a person you work with.
    Example: My colleagues are from different countries.

  • meeting – people coming together to discuss.
    Example: We have meetings every Monday.

  • headquarters (HQ) – the main office of a company.
    Example: Our headquarters are in New York.

  • branch – a smaller office.
    Example: We have a branch in London.

Task: Write a sentence using each vocabulary word. (Include past tense if possible.)

My company is called NutriLife. It produces food supplements for athletes. I work in the Human Resources department. I am responsible for recruitment and employee training. Our headquarters are in Milan, but we have branches in three countries. We have meetings with international partners online.

Phrases to use:

International Business Communication

  • What are the main differences between working with people in your country and working with people abroad?
