Are the teachers really Native English speakers?
Yes! All of our teachers are either native British or American. Many companies offer “native speakers”, but are in fact using teachers from the Philippines or South Africa. Although these teachers may sound native, not all of them are. It is very easily distinguishable to a University Educated, qualified ESL native speaker when a teacher is not in fact a native English speaker. Your pronunciation, grammar and vocabulary will not be en par with lessons from a British or American born teacher.
How long are the classes?
All of our online English classes are 50 minutes long.
How are classes conducted?
Classes are given over Skype, Zoom or ClassIn. The teacher will share their screen with you, to share information, videos, music and content. You may choose to have a video or an audio only lesson.
How many students are in a class?
We have two options, private one-on-one classes or small group classes (6 students per class).
Every student or group will have their own private foreign ESL teacher for the duration of their time with LEO English. We want to encourage you to speak openly, without any apprehension. Your tutor is going to assist you in the best ways possible to get the most from your time with us.
Will my schedule be fixed?
Yes, you will set a schedule and have your classes weekly, accordingly. Eg. Every Monday and Thursday you may have your class at 9pm.
Do I have a regular teacher?
You do! It is one of our core beliefs that to benefit the student the most, they should have a regular teacher who can asses them and tailor their classes to their specific (and changing) needs.
What materials will be used?
We have a wide variety of materials. These are individually selected for each student and their needs. Some parents supply materials for their children which they need for school. Some Business English students request help with certain topics at a certain time. General English will be selected according to your level, interests and desires.
Can I ask for leave?
You may, without any credits being deducted, if you cancel your class within 2 hours of the regular class time. Please be sure to arrange a catch-up class with your teacher so that you don’t lose any valuable time to improve your English language skills.
How are payments done?
Payments via Payoneer, PayPal or Bank Transfer are preferred, but you are welcome to contact us if this is not convenient or available to you.
